Which digital camera feature is better?

I am 17 years old, and going off to college soon. I want a digital camera for this summer and for college. I am a beginner with having my own digital camera. I came across light blue(fav color)Nikon CoolPix S3100 which has the LCD screen of 2.7 inches with 5x zoom. or should i get (black) Nikon CoolPix L24 with 3 inch LCD screen with only 3.6x zoom. Im not even a photographer or anything, but i just want something worth my money. each has a dis advantage and advantage. the S3100 has 5x zoom which is great and has my favorite color! or the L24which has the 3 inch LCD screen which is great too. which should i get? regardless of price
