Who is right me or my grandmother?

Okay so my grandmother is very very old-fashioned. Ok the first thing I wanted to do when I grow up is become a singer but my grandma says that Its not that easy to become a famous singer and I agree with her. So I thought of something else I could do as a future career and I love taking pictures so I thought of becoming a photographer but my grandma said that isn't a career. That really hurt my feelings because It's what I really enjoy doing and I'm really good at it too. Is photography a career or not? I don't care if I'm famous or not. She also tried convincing me to become a docter because it pays well but I don't wanna be a docter at all. Is photography a career??? (btw I am in highschool)
